Early Life
Declan Ogar-Genesis grew up basically a home boy. As a boy less than three years old, he started living with the father after his mother felt sick and was taken to a far place outside the state for treatment. A situation that led his father remarried to another woman causing Declan to continue life as a step-son to his father's new wife.
Education
Ogar Idagu started his formal education in Saint Peter's Primary School, Ugaga, Yala Local Government Area in 1986 and sat for his First School Leaving Certificate Examination in 1991. He proceeded to MaryKnoll College, Okuku, Yala LGA, to further his secondary education and passed out in 1998. Declan got his West African Secondary School Certificate (WASSC) at Campbell Secondary School, Lagos Island, Lagos State, in 2002.
He was enrolled into Alcom Technology Institute, Lagos Island, Lagos State, where he obtained certificate in Information Management and Microsoft office and design 2003. He proceeded to University of Calabar in 2004 where he obtained a bachelor of science degree (B.Sc. Hons) in Sociology and Anthropology.
Unlke some students who preffer plagiarising peopele's work, Declna conducted an independent reseach on "The Causes and Consequences of Urbanization in Nigeria, with Cross River State as he study area. Today, his work has been cited by over hundred scholars. He is currently developing the work to published.
Known for his insatiable avidity to continue to deveolop himself, Declan is currently on the verge of defending his Masters Thesis on a critical topic: "Community Policing and Blue-Collar Crime Control in Calabar Municipal Council Area of Cross River State, Nigeria". The essence of research is to solve problem and having developed passion for solving problems, Declan has always carefully selected research topics that will proffer solutions to some challenges confronting Cross River and Nigeria at large. Although, he is yet to defend his Thesis, but already there are proposals from all quarters to forward the work for publication in international journals.
In 2010 during his National Youth Service (NYSC) scheme where he served in Ijaloke Senior Grammar School, Emure, Ekiti, Declan won laurels and recognition as the best corp member in his set. Till date, the school management is still pressing that he returns as since he left they have failed to find a competent replacement to teach Literature; the subject he taught throughout his one year service.

Declan Ogar-Genesis is a devoted Christian and a staunch Catholic. Currently, he's the President of Our Lady Gate of Heaven Praesidium of Legion of Mary's apostolate and an active member of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYON) AirPort Parish, Edim Otop. He was recently commissioned as an Ambassador for Peace by an international peace organization known as Universal Peace Federation.
