CRS to eliminate Neglected Tropical Diseases by 2020 ... as Ayade to address world summit on NTDs in Geneva


The Cross River State Government has taken a particularly aggressive stance on Neglected Tropical Diseases in Nigeria, insisting that NTDs “will be totally eliminated by the year 2020.”

In recognition of the state government commitment to curb the scourge, Senator Professor Benedict Ayade, Executive Governor, Cross River State, will be addressing the 2017 world NTD Summit in Geneva, Switzerland.

The 2017 conference will  mark the fifth anniversary of the World Health Organization’s Roadmap on NTDs and the London Declaration on NTDs – a landmark commitment to control, eliminate or eradicate 10 NTDs by the end of the decade.

The summit which is expected to commence from 18-22 April 2017, will have  leaders from around the world  convene in Geneva, Switzerland, to pledge new commitments to the collective efforts to combat eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs
