Obaseki's Tribunal Victory Further Affirms Edo People's Desire For Change-Eta

All Progressives Congress in the South South Zone has congratulated the Edo state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki over a recent election tribunal verdict which affirmed his victory at last year's gubernatorial election in the state.

Obaseki who was candidate of the APC had defeated his rivals including PDP's Ize Iyamu with a wide and convincing margin.

Pastor Iyamu had petitioned the election tribunal alleging irregularities in the conduct of the polls and prayed for the cancelation.

But the Tribunal held in its judgement that APC won the election.

National Vice Chairman, South South, Ntufam Hilliard Eta in a statement made available by his Media Adviser, Bassey Ita said Obaseki's victory is a further affirmation of the people's verdict at the governorship election.

He said '' Edo people spoke loudly last November concerning the governance of their state in which they clearly indicated their desire for the change mantra of the APC. This indication is what the Tribunal has significantly affirmed through its recent verdict, '' Eta maintained.

Besides, the APC Chieftain said the victory brings profound glory to God who gives power to whom He desires stating that by it, God has again displayed His act to further the course of change and development in Edo.

 He urged the opposition parties to cooperate with the APC leadership to move the state forward and prayed the people of the state to support Obaseki to succeed.

 Eta also praised the Tribunal for the judgement adding it is a further prove the judiciary remains a bastion of hope for the oppressed.
