Eta Blast Ayade, Advocates Regime Change In C'River

Ntufam Hilliard Eta
Against the backdrop of the alleged failure of governance at the instance of the People's Democratic Party, PDP led government of Senator Ben Ayade in Cross River State, National Vice Chairman South South of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ntufam Hilliard Eta has strongly advocated regime change in the state to reverse what he called the retrogressive situation witnessed by the state currently.

Eta condemned what he described as '' the caterpillar and cankerworm approach to governance in Cross River State by the Ayade junta''stating that '' under the watch of Ayade, Cross River has drifted in development more than 16 years backward''.

He said '' under the PDP, Cross River is now ascribed with the inglorious nomenclature of a pariah state where her citizens are brutally murdered or maimed by the government for merely exercising their inalienable right to question the several social injustice and breaches coming from the Ayade junta''.

He continued '' like the security situation in the state, the development index of the state suffers want and poverty looms large among the citizens. The emolument and fringe benefits of workers and retirees always finds their way into the pocket of a man who doesn't care a hoot what excruciating pain they face in a state where the economy has been battered by massive pilfering of the common patrimony''.

He maintained that Ayade has buried Tourism and Agriculture which had been the mainstay of the state economy whereas other states like Anambra,Kebbi and Ebonyi with almost the same economic and financial capability are making massive progress in agriculture.

The APC Leader also bemoaned the falling investment index in the state reasoning that the surging insecurity and heavy tax regime imposed by the PDP government has been the reason investors have closed shop.

"Mr. Fans along Marian Road for instance is just one of the many investors in the state that have closed shop over heavy taxes imposed on them by the government'', he said.

Eta said a recent statement credited to the state government which laid claim to Ayade's 'magical' performance in the face of the dwindling financial fortunes of the state was a caricature of the highest order stating that the pilfering of the bailout funds and the Paris Club debt refund by the governor, reveals the magnitude of fraudulent disposition of the Ayade government.

" Any man who makes love to pilfering will never look another direction for consideration. Ayade will never look in the direction of the people of Cross River State to develop them because he and his brother Frank have had a long romance with pilfering of state resources'', he added.

The APC Chairman whose statement was contained in his Democracy Day Message and made available by his Media Aide, Mr. Bassey Ita said Ayade's style of governance was a bad taste which opens the window for regime change in 2019.

In his words, "It would be the most heinous thing to do to selves for Cross Riverians to allow the PDP government of Ben Ayade remain in power beyond 2019. What will befall the state , I bet with my blood, will be a worse case scenario than the current retrogression in the state. Cross River may go down into the abyss''.

Eta expressed strong indications of hope that the people of the state will demonstrate their awareness of the situation in the 2019 polls by voting out the PDP government.
