Supreme Court Ruling : Ndoma-Egba Congratulates Obaseki

The Chairman Governing Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has congratulated the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki over Supreme Court's dismissal of the appeal filed by the candidate of the PDP challenging his election.

In a press release issued by Clara Braide, Special Assistant Communication, Ndoma-Egba stated that the judgment has given final legitimacy to the Government and its programmes towards changing the fortunes of the state for the better.

The NDDC Chairman urged Governor Obaseki to justify the mandate given to him by the overwhelming majority of the Edo people and affirmed by the apex court, to bring the needed dividends of democracy to the people, adding that this ruling was a plus to the Niger Delta region as a whole.

He said; "This ruling is a justification to the Government of Edo as it now has legitimacy on its side. They must quickly heal all wounds and carry everyone along for the progress and betterment of the generality of the Edo people irrespective of political, cultural and religious inclinations".

"It is also good for the greater Niger Delta region because he can now focus and concentrate on contributing his own quota for the progress and development of the entire region.

"I congratulate the Government and good people of Edo for maintaining peace throughout the process leading up to this judgment and urge all to give them the  needed cooperation ".
