Breaking : Osinbajo Appoints Obono-Obla As Chairman Of Panel To Recover Stolen Properties

The Acting President,  Prof. Yemi Osibanjo has appointed the Senior Special Assistant on Prosecution to the President, Barr Okoi Obono-Obla as Chairman of Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Properties.

In a statement signed by the Director of Press, office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Bolaji Adebiyi, the appointment was in line with the powers conferred on the President by Recovery of Public Property (Special Provisions) Act Cap R4, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The Acting President also approved the appointment of Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran as the Secretary of the Panel.

According to the statement, "In another development, the Acting President, with powers conferred on the President by Recovery of Public Property (Special Provisions) Act Cap R4, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 has approved the setting up of a Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property. The Chairman of the Panel is Chief Okoi Obona-Obla, Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution.  Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran is the Secretary to the Panel".

In the related development, Osinbajo has appointwd people into some federal agencies.

Those appointed and their agencies include Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye​​ is the Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. Other members are : Dr. Grace N. Chinda​​​, Okolo Titus M,
,Barr. Obiora Igwedebia​​, Mrs. Olubukola Balogun​​, Group Captain Sam Ewang, Justice Adamu Bello​​​, Hannatu Mohammed​​​, Abdullahi Maikano Saidu​​,Dr. Sa’ad Alanamu​​​, Yahaya Umar Dauda​​,Khamis Ahmed Mailantarki​, Maimuna Aliyu​​​ and Prof. Musa Usman Abubakar​​ as Secretary

The statement added that the appointment of the Chairman is for 5 years, while the tenure for all the members is 4 years. Also, the appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.

For National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission Ekpo Nta, Esq​​​​​ Alhaji Dauda Yahaya, Hon. Garba Musa Gulma, were appointed as full-time Commissioners while Barr. Victoria Nnenna Chukwuani​​, Mr. Geoffery Yeilong, Prof. Ropo Shekoni​​​​ and Ahmed Mahmud Gumel​​​ made the list as Part-time Commissioners.

​The Permanent Secretary,
(Estab.) OHCSF​​​​ and that of Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity are Members of the Commission. Comrade Isa Aremu is to represent NLC while Mr. Chuma Nwankwo will NECA.

The statement added "The new appointments are for a period of 5 years. The Chairman of the Commission is High Chief Richard Egbule, while Mr. E. A. Thompson is the Secretary. Both were appointed in August 2014".

For Investment And Security Tribunal,​ Siaka Isaiah Idoko​​- was appointed as Chairman/CEO with Jude I. Udunni​​, Nosa Osemwengie​, Abubakar A. Ahmad​ and Albert L. Otesile​​ as full-time members. Emeka Madubuike​​, Kasumi Garba Kurfi​,Edward O. Ajayi​​, Onyemaechi E. M. Elujekor​ and Mamman Bukar Zargana​ are also Part-time Members.

Osinbajo appointed Engr. Chidi K. C. Izuwah​ as Director-General of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission

The appointment is however subject to Senate confirmation.
