Aspire to be job creators not seekers after graduation, Don Charges Students

Dr. Uti Egbai
A Lecturer in the department of Philosophy, University of Calabar (Unical), Dr. Uti Egbai has charged students to aspire to become employer of labour and not job seekers after leaving school.

Egbai who is the Director, Centre for General Studies of the university made the call recently when he played host to students under the aegis of Biase Students Association who were in his office on a courtesy visit.

The Don charged the students to always prioritize their academic as that was the primary reason of their being in the University and not unionism.

He said that "Biase students must halt the mentality of 'go to school, graduate with good grades and get a good job' because this syndrome has been played out of our society".

Earlier, in his opening remarks, the President of the association, Edem Omatey commended him for his enormous financial and moral support for the association.

Omatey who appealed for his continues fatherly role for the association also pleaded that he should sustain all forms of support the association has enjoyed from him over the years.

He described him as a kind and magnanimous man who has supported Biase youths and students in no small measure over time.
