Herdsmen Attack : IPAC calls for Sack of Security Chiefs Ubongabasi Etukudo, Calabar

The Cross River Chapter of the Interparty Advisory Council ( IPAC) has called for the immediate sack of security chiefs in the country over their failure to fish out Fulani herdsmen who invaded some communities in Benue State and killed over 70 persons.

Chairman of IPAC in the state, Pastor Sunday Michael who made the call in an exclusive chat with thesouthernexaminer in Calabar said the Inspector General of Police, Director- General of the State Security Service( DSS) and Director of Intelligence Agency( DIA) have displayed a high level of incompetence by failing in their constitutional duties of security lives and properties of Nigerians.

He said the security chiefs should be relieved of their duties and be replaced with competent hands who can effectively manage the country's security system.

Pastor Michael said the proposed establishment of Cattle Colonies in all states of the federation would further plunge the country into intractable crisis, adding that Cattle rearing is a private business and should be treated as such.

The IPAC Chairman who said the Presidency is treating the matter with kid gloves added that, " i am bemused by the importance attached to cattle private business.  I am a computer programmer and I source for my funds to buy my computers and staffing,  why is government not interested in what I do?

" I say no to cattle colony and even forced ranching.

"The North has vast expanse of land,  for instance Sambisa is bigger than Belgium why can't we build cattle colonies there? The Cattle rearers all are coming from a state and land in Nigerian are own by families. Each herder can approach their family head for a land for gracing or buy a land for ranching

"This is the way to go.  Get your ranch, spend your money or call for investment or get a loan when you have done this you can decide to sell one cow for any amount you feel can bring profit to your hard end investment.

" In all government should live up to her responsibility of securing the lives and properties of her citizens be it Fulani or Yoruba,  Ibo, Hausa or any other citizen or ethnic group"
