BREAKING (UPDATED) : Angry Youths Attack Reps Member In Etung

The member representing Etung/Obubra constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Mike Etaba has allegedly escaped mob action by angry youths of his constituency.

An eye witness who hinted Fearless Report in confidence said that the incident took place today in Efraya, headquarters of Etung  local government area of the state during a rally organized by PDP to endorse Governor Ben Ayade.

The source said that the youths were said to be angry with his representation since he assumed office as a federal lawmaker and were against him being part of the endorsement rally.

According to the source, he was however allowed access to the rally venue after intervention by some chiefs and elders.

"Happening now, Mike Etaba almost mobbed in Etung Council for attending the endorsement of Ayade. The youths are angry with his performance and representation.

"Some elders have to intervene to persuade the aggrieved youths to allow him access to the rally ground", the source said.

Reacting to the incident while speaking in the rally, the lawmaker who said he was ready to make peace with the people for being upset to the point of trying to stop him from entering Etung promised to give each ward N500,000.

He also thanked the chiefs for intervening in the issue even as he promised to give all the chiefs present including the Etung Paramount Ruler N200,000 each.

Also, an unnamed youth who insisted that the Etung people were not accepting his offer was promised N100,000.

"He said for the people to get angry to the extent of blocking him from entering Etung, he is giving each Ward of Etung local government area N500,000 while all the Chiefs present including the Paramount Ruler was promised N200,000.

"Then there is one youth that insisted that the people will not accept the offer, he promised him N100,000", the source added.
