BREAKING : APC Nullifies N'Delta Minister Suspension, Sets To Elect Substantive Chairman

The crisis rocking the Cross River State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is gradually coming to an end as the national leadership of the party has nullified the suspension of all party members including the Niger Delta Minister, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani.

It will be recalled that the State working Committee and state Executive Council of the party have recently slammed an indefinite suspension on the Minster who was to join other executive members who were serving suspension over alleged anti-party activities.

The development led to the emergence of Hon. Etim John as parallel chairman of a faction loyal to the Minster.

In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mens Ikpeme, the decision was taken in a meeting of Cross River State APC stakeholders at the National Secretariat in Abuja yesterday. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Vice Chairman (South) of the party. Segun Oni.

He said Oni pronounced suspension of anybody in the party null and void  even as he slated February 24 for a state Congress to elect a substantial State Chairman.

Since the former State Chairman, Pastor Usani Uguru was appointed the Niger Delta minister, his then deputy, Ochalla has been leading the party in Acting Capacity.

Ikpeme in his statement added that the party has zoned the State Chairmanship position to the central senatorial district of the state.

"At the All Progressives Congress (APC) Cross River State stakeholders meeting held at the party's National secretariat Abuja on Monday , 19th of February 2018.

Meeting was presided over by His Excellency Segun Oni ; former Gov for Ekiti state. Agenda for the meeting:
Congress to elect a substantive state party chairman. Congress was slated for 24th February, 2018 .

Venue: Cross River State party secretariat , Calabar. Nomination fee:N100,000. Qualification:SSCE

Chairmanship candidate was zoned to the Central Senatorial district.

His excellency Segun Oni appealed to party members to provide a level playing ground for the congress.

The chairman frowned at the spate of suspension activities circulating among party members and tagged it Ridiculous

He declared all suspensions in the party to any person NULL AND VOID".
