Clash of Legends : Ronaldinho, Okocha to play Fundraising charity match in Nigeria

Former Brazilian and FC Barcelona star and two times world footballer of the year, Ronaldo De Assis Moreira popularly known as Ronaldinho, and former Supper Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha will tomorrow, Saturday 10 feature in a fundraising charity football match tagged "clash of the legends" in Nigeria.

The match which will be played in the Abuja International Stadium, Abuja, Nigeria capital city will be between legends of Spanish La Liga giant, Fc Barcelona and former Super Eagles stars led by Okocha.

The event is organized by the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) in collaboration with the  United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Blaugrana Sports International.

The clash is part of a two days event aimed at raising funds for less privileged Nigerian Children as well as galvanise the corporate world into supporting government efforts to provide quality education for children.

Miriam Obi, an aide to the NCWD DG, Barr. Mrs. Mary Ekpere-Eta who revealed this to Fearless Reports described the event as a "life changing event for less privileged children" in Nigeria.

Obi who said that the fundraising will hold today, Friday 9 during a gala night in Abuja also hinted that the wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, will be conferred with a special recognition award by UNICEF for "her tireless advocacy for the development of the girl-child".

According to her, "The National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Abuja in collaboration with UNICEF and Blaugrana Sports International host a fundraising football charity match in honour of less privileged children in our society.

UNICEF will at the event, confer the mother of the nation and the country's First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, with a special recognition award for her tireless advocacy for the development of the girl-child.

The ultimate goal of the 2-day event which includes a charity football match, between FC Barcelona legends such as Ronaldihno and ex-Super Eagles stars including Austin 'Jay-Jay' Okocha is to galvanise the corporate world into supporting government to provide quality education to children.

Please note that the gala night during which funds will be raised holds on Friday, 9th February while the Clash of the Legends football match comes up the next day, 10th February"
