PAUL ADAH: TRACK RECORD OF IMPACTFUL PUBLIC SERVICE PERFORMANCE

Before his incursion into partisan politics in 2003, Hon. Paul Andeshi Adah had distinguished himself as an accomplished Civil Servant who rose to the rank of co-ordinating director in the Unifed Local Government Service. That position which is a level 17 position in the Unified Local Government Service was attained in record time between 1989 (when he joined the United Local Government Service as Administrative Officer I on grade level 09) and 2003, when he disengaged from the Unified Local Government Service to contest for the position of Member House of Representative for Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku Federal Constituency of Northern Cross River Senatorial District.

Hon. Adah’s meteoric rise in the Unified Local Government Service was due largely to his creative and result-oriented disposition to the administration of the various Local Government Areas he served in across the state.

Those who knew him while in service will attest to the fact that he was an administrative officer sought after by Local Government Chief executives ranging from sole administrators, to caretaker chairmen and elected chairmen. The memos he generated opened up spaces for employment and development projects.

When he won election in 2003 to represent the Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, he became the first House of representative member from that constituency to win an unprecedented 2nd term. That record until today has not been broken.

Many attribute that feat to his very able representation of that constituency.

Apart from embarking on empowerment of his constituents through the provision of motor bikes, cars, hairdressing and tailoring equipments for entrepreneurship, Hon. Adah equally influenced the employment of more than 30 persons from both within and outside his constituency into the News Agency of Nigeria, Nigeria Television Authority, the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria the National Assembly and the Nigeria Police Force among others.

In spite of protest from a section of Cross River State in 2013, President Jonathan nominated him as Cross River representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission. A nomination that was confirmed by the National Assemble.

Working with other Board members and the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, that board which was dissolved in 2015 barely 2 years into its tenure attracted an unprecedented number of projects to the length and breadth of Cross River State.
