BREAKING : Cross River deputy gov denied power supply in his office

Cross River Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu holding umbrella for Gov. Ben Ayade
Following the unavailability of Prof Ben Ayade in his office since two weeks, power supply throughout the government offices have been cut, including that of the deputy governor, Prof Ivara Esu.

Yesterday (Monday) when he arrived the office panting and sweaty, he requested for one of the electric plants to be switched on, it was politely turned down even when he appealed that he needed to work.

The government offices in the last two weeks have become more like a ghost town as workers have refused to go to work following the absence of the state governor.

One of the workers who pleaded not to be mentioned said they can not come to work since there will be no light for them to work following alleged directive by  the chief of staff, Mr Martins Orim who is alleged to decide when to and who in the office to benefit from the power ration.

"These days, he is reported to have completely ordered the black out of all offices", said the government staff.

A staff in the chief of staff office who also pleaded for anonymity explained that they have had challenges with supply of fuel and diesel.

"Don't forget that the two power plants have had some challenges which we are battling to fix. It is not because of the governor's absence.".
