Ekori Community Declares Support For Agara's Senatorial Aspiration

The senatorial aspiration of Barr Chris Agara, front line aspirant for the Central Senatorial District Senate Seat in the forthcoming 2019 general elections has gotten a boast with the three council wards that make up Ekori community in Yakurr LGA declaring it's total support for the Senatorial hopeful.

The declaration was made shortly after the Senatorial aspirant officially consulted the People's Democratic Party (PDP)leadership of the community of his intention to vie for the top job.

Giving reasons why he was throwing his hat into ring, Barr Chris Agara said, his desire is to turn around the fortunes of the people of the Senatorial District through Agriculture and human capital development.

The businessman cum politician who christened his Senatorial aspiration with the slogan 'Back to Land' said if elected, he was going to explore his wide contacts in ensuring that the people of the district have access to the several agricultural grants given by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Ministry of Agriculture,World Bank and other international organizations as well as ensure that his constituents are gainfully employed in Federal Civil Service.

He also hinted of his plans to facilitate an Agricultural MicroFinance Bank in the Central Senatorial District where farmers could form themselves into cooperatives so as to access different amount of grants that would boast their agricultural production.

He said as a successful business man with proven records of achievement even as a private individual,he has what it takes to give the people of the district effective representation while warning on the need to reject politicians whose stock in trade is to disappear after they are elected and appear when it is time for another election.

Barr Agara further remarked that his decision to officially consult the community was in recognition of the love and friendship the people have over the years showed him and all that concerns him.

Speaking on behalf of the three Council wards of Ajere, Ntan,Afrekpe Epenty, a retired Permanent Secretary in the State, Chief Wilfred Obongha, two Director Generals in the State,Hon Mike Mbang and Hon Abubakar Efoli as well as a former Vice Chairman of Yakurr LGA,Hon Patrick Iyamba among others, described Barr Chris Agara as a son of Ekori who has given them many reasons to support his Senatorial aspirations.

They say come 2019, they have decided to take their destiny in their own hands by giving their unflinching support to a good friend other than a bad brother.

The speakers highlighted some of the major challenges affecting the community to include, deplorable state of internal roads,several abandoned projects as well as minimal participation in the activities of the Government of the day inspite of its overwhlming support while expressing optimism on the Senatorial candidature of Barr Agara to tackle some of these challenges as well as leverage on his relationship with the Governor to bring rapid development to the community.
