UNICAL VC to represent Nigeria as distinguished guest of Korea foundation

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu has been nominated as a guest of the Korea Foundation Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests in Arts and Culture.

Prof. Akpagu will be representing Nigeria at the event which is scheduled to hold from March 25 through 31, 2018, in Seoul, the Korean capital.

A letter signed by Sihyung Lee, President of the Foundation, indicates that the visit will afford the VC the opportunity to meet with his Korean counterparts, share knowledge and expertise with other program participants and familiarize himself with Korean culture and society.

The letter further explains that the program will include visits to relevant organizations and individuals of Korean government and private sectors as well as tour of various industrial and cultural sites.

According to the letter, the visit, which is entirely at the expense of the Korea Foundation, is exclusively for prominent individuals from abroad who have distinguished themselves in various professional fields.

The list of invitees contained in the letter includes prominent academics and technocrats from institutions and organizations of 14 other countries such as the United States, Australia, Portugal, Senegal, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Algeria, Romania, Belarus, among others.

The Korea Foundation which was established in 1991, has been promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Korea and other nations through various international exchange programs.
