EID-IL-FITR : C'River Senator donates 100 bags of cement for Mosque project

The Senator representing Cross River State Southern Senatorial district, Gershom Bassey, on Friday donated 100 bags of cement to the Hausa Community in the state towards the construction of a central Mosque in Calabar.

Senator Bassey who made the donation as part of the Eid-ik-fitr celebration said the cement is part of his contribution to facilitate the fast  construction of the Mosque and assured that he will make more donations towards the mosque project soon.

The Senator who was represented by one of his close supporters, Chief Ekpenyong Eyamba said that what is paramount is the peace of the country and called on the Hausa Community to educate their members on the need to register and collect their PVCs so that they will vote in the 2019 election.

“Everyone is free to vote for anyone of his choice but what we should have in the forefront of our minds is the unity of the country and peace which will give everyone the opportunity to continue to  pursue his source of livelihood”.

The Secretary of the Mosque building Committee, Auwal Mohammed Musa assured the Senator of the support of the Hausa Community in the district during the 2019 election.

“We will give our support and votes to him during the election because what he has done is remarkable and shows love for us therefore we want him to return to the Senate in 2019 so that he will do more for the people of the district”.

He said prayers are being offered for the country so that the 2019 elections would be peaceful even as he called on politicians to close ranks and work towards the development of the country.
