Face your failed church, family and leave me alone, Ayade blast Bishop Josef

Cross River State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade has fired back at the General Overseer of God's Heritage Centre, Bishop Josef Bassey who recently said that the Governor doesn't deserve a second tenure because of poor performance.

Ayade who said this through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita said that Bishop Bassey should channel his efforts towards saving his church and family, both of which he says have crumbled.

Ayade said out of respect for his standing as a preacher, he would not descend to the gutter level the Bishop had descended.

"We are not going to descend to his level by joining issues with him. However, I will advice him to please spend his time and energy on trying to rebuild his family and church, which have crumbled owing to lack of discipline and personal indescrestions," he said.

The Governor, who said it is probable that the beleaguered pastor was trying to distract himself from the many troubles that have enveloped his family and church, however, declared that the people of the state, who are very happy with his performance, will vote him for a second term come 2019.

He therefore, urged Josef and his ilk, who are hirelings of anti-Cross River forces not to waste their breathe as their hatchet job had failed.

"Cross Riverians are extremely happy with the governor. And why will they not be when in just three years, he has built 12 industries and still counting.

"From number 27 in National Examination Council (NECO), Cross River is now second. Here is a governor, who is building roads in each of the 18 local governments in the state, including the longest road ever undertaken by a state government, the 143km Mfom-Yahe-Bekwarra-Obudu dual carriage road.

"Today Eastern and Western Boki have direct road access, the Boje and Kakwagom bridges completed. Waneheim and Wanakandi road is under construction amongst many other roads including the complete asphalting of Usung Esuk in Akpap-Okonyong in Odukpani Local Government.

"Through the State Universal Education Board, the administration has carried out total and comprehensive renovation of at least 230 schools across the state."
