BREAKING : Finally Ayade Opens up over rumour of defection to APC

Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has refuted reports making the rounds on social media that he is set to dump the People's Democratic Party, PDP for the All Progressives Party, APC.

Ayade reaction was contained in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity/Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita.

The Governor said that his relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari is purely based on governance and not politics.

While reiterating that he remain a committed member of the PDP, he said that story alleging that he was planning to dump the PDP is an imagination of the author.

"There is absolutely no truth to the report that Governor Ayade is defecting to the APC. It is fake news. It is the fertile imagination of the author of the report.

The governor has a relationship with the President based on governance. So there is a need for us as a people to understand that governance is different from politics.

Ayade is a committed PDP member"
