Odey Adamade football tournament now to hold in December

Sports lovers in Obudu local government area of Cross River State can now prepare for a quality tournament in December as organizers of the Odey Adamade annual football tournament have come out to say that the event this year will take place in December.

Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee,  Undeshi David Mayor said that the event which usually take place between August and September every year was shifted to December because of the just concluded Obudu state constituency bye-election.

He assured all registered teams not to loose hope noting that the postponement will give them opportunity to organize better tournament.

The LOC Chairman added that the new date for the kickoff will be announced in November to allow teams prepare well for the competition.

Odey Adamade football tournament is a yearly football competition organized for youths of Obudu. The tournament is named after the sponsor, Barr. Odey Adamade who also hails from Obudu.

It was initially introduce as part of activities to bring young people together during the Obudu new yam festival which comes up every first Saturday of the September. This year's own however has been shifted till December during the Christmas period.
