I remain C'River APC governorship candidate, Owan Enoh declares

Sen. John Owan Enoh
The Senator representing the Cross River State Central Senatorial District, John Owan Enoh has said that he remains the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Enoh during APC stakeholders meeting in Calabar yesterday said that insinuations in some quarters that his name has been replaced was not true adding that it is not even about to happen.

According to him "In the last couple of days, I have been inundated by calls; some people even crying over the phone and telling me that they have been told that my name has been replaced by another person’s name, this of course is not true.

"It is not true that anybody’s name has replaced my name (as the APC gubernatorial candidate) and it is not about to happen”.

Fearless Reports reported last week that Justice Valentine Ashi of the federal High Court in Abuja granted an interim order restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC from accepting and recognizing his name as the governorship candidate of APC in the state.

The report generated a lot of controversy with many legal practitioners arguing that the interim order didn't restrain INEC from recognizing him.

Last week, the National Working Committee of the party also forwarded Enoh's name as governorship candidate alongside others to the INEC.

At the stakeholders meeting, Enoh also formally announced former PDP state Chairman and the immediate past Chairman of Cross River State Waterboard Limited, Ntufam Ekpo Okon as his running mate.

Speaking after his presentation, Okon sad that "the confidence in my principal is because he is determined and it is possible that he will win. All of you that I see here have become the instruments to make a difference in our state.

Look at the faces here and these are the faces that I consider as the foot soldiers that have been doing it in the past. They are so many others who are not here with us, I can however assure you that they will come. We must be ready”.
