Legor has failed, I'll work for APC Koko Dan - PDP Chieftain

PDP Reps Candidate, Hon. Legor Idagbor (L) and Mr. Koko Dan, APC candidate

A chieftain of the People's Democratic Party in Bekwerra local government area of Cross River State, Mr. Sunday Ushie has endorsed Mr. Koko Dan, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Bekwerra/Obudu/Obanliku federal constituency.

Ushie in an exclusive chat with our reporter in Calabar said that the 2019 elections would not be determined by the political party any candidate belongs to but track records.

While maintaining that the interest of his constituency is more paramount to him than political party, he added that the current occupant of the seat, Hon. Legor Idagbor has failed in all ramification hence his decision to work for the APC candidate.

He described Koko Dan as a liberal young man whose philanthropic gesture has placed him far ahead of others in the race.

According to him "I'm a member of the PDP from Bekwerra where the current Reps, Legor comes from but I'll vote and work for that young APC candidate Koko Dan. I don't know him, I've not met him before and except it's necessary, I'll not meet him but I'll work seriously against Legor".

Explaining his decision for vowing to work against his party's candidate he said that "Legor was a local government Chairman for two terms before Imoke removed him and made him Commissioner for Works. Now he is in reps but as we speak there's no single thing you can mention in Bekwerra that he has done.

"I don't understand how a young man like him whom God has so blessed with opportunities will be so mean and heartless to forget that he is supposed to serve the people. For Legor, it's not about incompetence but deliberate wickedness and betrayal of his people.

"He's probably thinking that it's business as usual but I can assure you that the outcome of his election in his own local government will be a great shock to him. We're talking to people and trust me, those against him even in PDP are strong enough to retire him from the Reps.

"Initially, I thought PDP will give DC (Dornclaimz) the ticket because he deserves it but since the party is so insensitive to the point of recycling failures like Legor, the only option left for us is to look elsewhere for a more liberal person like Koko Dan".

Continuing he said that "Koko Dan has not been in government before but he has built two houses for people who are not even from his village. Do you know what it means to mold block talk more of building houses for people?

"I heard he is sponsoring people in school but tell me how many people Legor has sent to school with public funds not even his personal resources like Dan? Tell me how many projects Legor has influenced to his constituency? Since he go to the Reps, he only brought people here to eat moimoi. Is that what we need?

"For me and my entire household, Legor has no business being in government because he doesn't think about the people but himself alone".

Ushie however added that "I'll work against Legor in protest but I'll support all our candidates from presidency to house of assembly. I don't need to tell you that the entire north is for Gov. Ayade in 2019".
