2019 : Usani wins Ayade in online poll

Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Usani Uguru Usani, a factional governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC has won Gov. Ben Ayade of the People's Democratic Party, PDP in an online poll.

The poll which was conducted by popular social media influencer, Comrade Ifere Paul had a total of 340 participants.

Usani scored 194 votes which represent 57 per cent while Ayade had 146 votes representing 43 per cent of the total votes casted.

Reacting to the poll results, Usani staunch supporter, Kalita Joe Aruku said that the poll was organized by Ifere who is supporting another candidate, Sen. Owan Enoh to ridicule the Minister but it backfired.

He said that "the poll was organized by an APC chieftain, Chief Ifere Paul possibly to ridicule Usani because he and other Owan Enoh supporters voted against Usani but it backfired as Dr. Usani trounced the incumbent Governor.

"This poll has laid to rest the insinuations that Usani is not popular enough to defeat Governor Ayade in next year's governorship elections".
