Alumni Centre : FaithPlant, Lafarge, donate building materials to CRUTECH alumni

Ongoing CRUTECH Alumni building project

The ongoing Alumni Centre building project by the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Alumni Association has received a major boost as FaithPalnt Global and Lafarge Holcim have donated building materials to support the projects.

While FaithPlant, a construction company donated 120 tonnes of granites with a promise of making further donation of 60 tonnes of hardcore, Lafarge, the owners of UNICEM cement donated three Jumbo bags of cement which is an equivalent
to one hundred and thirty (130) bags of cements to the association.

Speaking, President of the association, Eyam Abeng said that the donations were in fulfilment of the promise made by the two companies during separate visits to them to solicit their partnership in the ongoing project.

Abeng added that both companies have also agreed to supply some building materials for the projects at about 70 per cent discount.

"The donation by FaithPlant and Lafarge is another milestone for us in our strategic plans to build a state-of-the-art alumni centre for our alma matter. The building will be called alumni centre but all the facilities inside will be enjoyed by the students.

"FaithPlant Global and Lafarge have demonstrated serious commitment to this vision and we are very grateful to them. We have approached so many Cross Riverians who have turned us down but I was amazed by the level of commitment from this companies.

"I feel more motivated and encouraged that despite the seeming neglect by some people that should ordinarily help us,  they are still many out there with the heart of gold.  I say a big thank you to the COE of FaithPlant, Evangelist Asuquo and the management team of Lafarge, Cross River state branch for the support", Abeng said.
