2019 : Vote out corrupt, dishonest politicians, Ekpere charges women

Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development, Mrs. Mary Ekpere-Eta Esq. has charged Nigerian women come out in their numbers and vote out corrupt and dishonest politicians.

She also advised women not to allow their children to used as thugs by politicians in the forthcoming general elections.

Ekpere in a statement personally signed by her said that young people should be encouraged and supported to participate in the political process but not to be used to cause violence.

She added that 2019 is a critical year in the history of the country hence women should be at the forefront of voting candidates who will invest in relevant sectors of the economy.

According to her "As women, we should be on the look out for candidates who talk investment in security, education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment.

"We should not allow our children and wards to be deployed as political thugs.

"We should support young people to participate in the political process, but they should not be used to cause violence. 

"Certainly, 2019 is a critical year for Nigeria and women should be at the forefront of voting in or returning candidates who will make investments in social services as well as empowering women and youths.

"Women should use their votes to keep out corrupt and dishonest politicians".
