Mr. Ukam Ngwu, Esq. CRUTECH alumni new Legal Adviser

The President, Comrade Eyam Abeng and the National Executive Council of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Alumni Association have approved the appointment of Mr. Ukam Ivi Ngwu Esq. as the new Legal Adviser of the association.

The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer of the Association, Comrade Inyali Peter.

The appointment according to the statement is with immediate effect.

"The President and National Executive Council of Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH Alumni Association have graciously approved the appointment of Ukam I Ngwu, Esq as the new Legal Adviser of the association. The appointment is with immediate effect.

According to section 3 of our constitution which talks address the composition of the National Executive Council, the Legal Adviser is a member of the NEC therefore by virtue of the appointment, all organs of the association are advised to accord Mr. Ngwu the cooperation, rights, respect and privileges of a NEC member", the statement reads.

Ukam Ngwu studied Mass Communication up to Masters level in CRUTECH before proceeding to the University of Calabar for another degree in law and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar, as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He is currently rounding off his PhD programme in Mass Communication in University of Uyo.

He was appointed to replace the former Legal Adviser, Barr. Ovat who has since moved out of the country.

Reacting, the lawyer who is also a Lecturer in the department of Mass Communication, CRUTECH thanked the association for finding him worthy to serve in the capacity.

He said that "I want to sincerely thank the National Executive Council led by our amiable President; Mr. Eyam Abeng and the entire members of this prestigious association for the opportunity to serve our beloved alma mata in the capacity of the National Legal Adviser.

I wish to reiterate my unrelenting commitment and unalloyed loyalty to my alma mata. I promise to work in the best of my ability and in tandem with our constitution to support the vision and mission of this administration in achieving greater heights. Most especially, to maintain law and order, promote peaceful coexistence among us and to voice my legal opinion /advice when and where necessary in line with global best practices.

I assure you that I will not disappoint the association in this trust reposed on me.
