BREAKING : Ayade congratulates Wike on Re-election

Cross River state Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has congratulated his Rivers State counterpart, Governor Nysom Wike on his reelection.

The contentious Rivers state governorship election was finally completed on Wednesday and the incumbent Governor, Wike of the People's Democratic Party, PDP defeated his closet rival, the candidate of the African Action Congress, Biokpomabo Awara with 888,264 votes against137,859 votes.

INEC’s collation officer for the governorship election, Prof. Teddy Adias, declared the PDP candidate winner having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes.

Excited by the victory of his party in the election, Ayade who has also overwhelming secured a second term in the March 9 governorship election took to his official Twitter handle @Senbenayade to congratulate Wike.

According to the tweet which has garnered 51 likes, 9 retweets and six comments, Ayade said Wike's victory is a reinforcement of the confidence of Rivers people on his leadership.

"I congratulate my colleague and brother @GovWike on his victory on the just concluded Rivers State Governorship election. The victory reinforces the confidence of the people in your result-driven leadership", he said.
