Reckless Driving : Unical bans use of power bikes on campus

The Management of the University of Calabar, Unical, has announced a ban on the use of power bikes anywhere within the University community.

In a memo signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Moses Abang today, May 30, 2019, the management hinged the reason for the ban on the risk posed by the speed and reckless driving of the bikers.

The memo expressed the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zana Akpagu's concern over the infiltration of the campus by some staff and students power bikers adding that the development is worrisome and no longer acceptable.

All relevant personnel have been instructed to ensure strict compliance as defaulters would be adequately sanctioned.

The release reiterated the ban on the operations of Learner Drivers within the University environment.
