REVEALED : Why C'River noodles factory is recruiting

Governor Ben Ayade's former Chief Press Secretary/Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Christian Ita has cleared the air on why the government has commenced recruitment into the state-own noodles factory.

Our reporter had contacted Mr. Ita who is still working closely with the Governor to clarify the issue following insinuations by some people that there are no jobs yet in the factory.

Recall that the government in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Dr. Aye Henshaw announced that qualified  Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of Cross River origin should apply to be recruited into the factory despite it not being in full operation yet.

The statement reads "His Excellency, the state governor, Senator Professor Ben Ayade has directed the immediate recruitment of Cross River State indigenes to work at the state-owned noodles factory.

To qualify for consideration, the applicants must be degree holders in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

The release attracted criticism on social media from some people who suggested that there was no way the government could recruit people to work in a Factory which is still under construction.

However, Mr. Ita in a telephone conversation with our reporter debunked such insinuations warning that the government critics shouldn't play politics with everything.

He  noted that the Governor directed the recruitment of only people with degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering because he wants to give them opportunity to learn from foreign experts who are already on ground to install equipments in the factory.

He maintained that what the Governor is doing is giving young Cross Riverians opportunity to learn from experts after completion of civil work in the factory.

According to him "The true situation is that they have finished civil work, equipments are on ground and installation is commencing.  So the Governor simply wants to engender knowledge transfer which is why he is asking for just electrical and mechanical Engineers to join the experts in installing the equipments.

So, the idea is knowledge transfer. The Governor wants our indigenous electrical and mechanical Engineers to be part of installation and just like one of the critics acknowledged in his article, equipments are on ground, civil work has been completed and they're entering the next stage which is installation".
