C'River young Professionals hail Jedy's appointment, want him deployed to petroleum ministry

Prince Goddy Jedy-Agba, OFR, HonoirblHo Minister Designate

A group under the aegis of Cross River State Young Professionals have hailed the appointment of Prince Goddy Jedy-Agba, OFR as Minister of the Federal Republic by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a chat with our reporter, representatives of the group in different remarks described Jedy's appointment as one of the best decisions by the President adding that he is one of the best brains from the state who will bring alot to the Federal Executive Council, FEC.

They however appealed to President Buhari to deploy him to the Petroleum Ministry because of his vast bureaucratic experience and sterling record when he was in the Nigeria National Petroleum Commission, NNPC as group General Manager (Crude Oil Marketing).

Speaking, Barr. Odey Adamade, a staff of NNPC said that the appointment of Jedy was one of the best things to happen to the state and by extension the country adding that he is a valuable asset that will help President Buhari achieve his next level agenda.

Adamade added that "Jedy is one of the most intelligent Cross Riverians I've come across. He's calm, focused and a goal-getter. From his sterling performance in public service before his retirement and competence demonstrated during the screening, it's now clear to everyone that President Buhari has appointed one of the best Nigerians with vast knowledge about how the oil and gas sector works".

On his part, Offiong Orok of the Petroleum Development Trust Funds, PTDF described the appointment of Jedy as "putting round peg in a round hole, adding that "it is my wish that he will be deployed to a Ministry that will help him exhibit the competence he has built over 20 years in the mainstay of Nigeria economy which is the Oil and gas sector ".

He added that "As Professionals, we're happy and very proud of him. We've no doubt that he will not only make Cross River proud, but the entire country. I only want to appeal to the President to deploy him not only as a Minister of State for Petroleum but as a substantive Minister".

Also speaking, David Odu, a member of the group working with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, described him as a technocrat per excellence saying that "he is a man that has Cross River and Nigeria at heart".

He maintained that "We as young Cross River Professionals have enjoyed his support over the years. I remember when we all came out of school very young and were trying to find our feets around Abuja and such places where we didn't have people, he was always there and gave us his shoulder to lean on.

"He has spent reasonable number of years in the oil and gas sector where he retired at a very high level so I feel that the President will send him to the Petroleum Ministry where his expertise will be needed most. He's unarguably, one of the best from the state in public service and we're happy for the opportunity he has now to continue to contribute to the development of the country".

On his part, Monkom David Aju also of the NNPC said that "The oil and gas sector is so critical to our economy that shouldn't be left completely in the hands of politicians. Prince Jedy is a professional in politics and not Professional politician.

From his well articulated programmes and plans on how to get our refineries working again to end the subsidy regime, Nigerians have every reason to celebrate because he's a man who once he's given the right environment to work can pull surprises".
