BREAKING : Nakowa, CRN APC Primary Panel Chair Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping

Reports have surfaced online that revealed that Cross River North All Progressives Congress, APC September 3rd Primary Committee Chairman, Alhaji Sulieman Nakowa was once arrested for alleged kidnapping.

Vanguard report in September 2016 revealed that Nakowa was arrested alongside a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Edfiong Akpa for allegedly kidnapping two corp members.

According to the report,  "The Magistrate Court in Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State has remanded one Alhaji Nakowua Suleiman", who was then a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and "Mr Effong Akpan, an Electoral Officer attached to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to Auchi prison for alleged abduction of two Youth Corpers during the recent Voters Registration Exercise".

The duo were alleged to have abducted two Youth Corps members Matthew Omaji and Grace Adah, Confiscated the registration machine to the residence of the Nakowa where the Corpers were coerced to register people illegally.

The three count charge against the defendants  read: “ that on the 25th of June, 2016, at Ofukpo, in the Fugar Magistrate District did abduct one Mathew Omaji and compelled him against his will to carry out unlawful activities and thereby committed an offence contrary to  section 1 and punishable under section 3 (2) of the Edo state kidnapping prohibition law 2009 as amended in 2013".

Since the report, nothing has been heard of the case again but the report resurfaced online  yesteray after Nakowa was involved in another alleged electoral fraud during the APC primaries.

Nakowa who was one of Atiku Abubakar, PDP Presidential candidate's Coordinator in Edo state was said to have abandoned his duty as panel Chairman and traveled immediately he distributed materials for the election with an aspirant who allegedly bribed him to announce him as winner of the Cross River North APC primary in Abuja the next day.

The crisis has been dragged to the APC national caretaker Committee and a decision is set to be taken in the next few days.
