Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Cross River State, Sir John Ochala has commended the efforts of the Minister of State, Power, Goddy Jedy Agba, OFR in restoring peace in the party.
Ochala in a congratulatory message to the newly INAUGURATED state caretaker committee members hailed the Minister and other leaders of the party for their sacrifices in uniting the party.
He urged the new executives and other leaders of the party to continue to make sacrifices in the overall interest of the party.
According to him "big Congratulations to the New State Executive Caretaker Committee in APC Cross River State.
"I also congratulate the leader of APC Cross River, Prince Goddy Jedy Agba, Minister of State, Power, other leaders and the entire APC family for this great sacrifice and show of sportsmanship. Let us continue to make sacrifices for the overall benefit of the party.
Recall that APC in the state was embroiled in leadership crisis that divided the party into factions with two factional executives operating different state secretariats.
The inauguration of a harmonized caretaker committee on Friday, January 22 was the first time in over four years that the factions was coming together to work as a team.
Many party leaders have credited the Minister for the development while declaring that with the peace now in the party, APC was poised to takeover leadership in the state in 2023.
Former State Deputy Youth Leader of the party, Kalita Joe Aruku in his reaction, said that the party learned a bitter lesson from the division which cost them the 2019 elections but was now ready to provide credible leadership in the state.
Aruku said that, "the seamless harmonization of the once divided leadership structure of APC is a clear indication that the APC is tired of being in the opposition and is now ready to provide credible leadership to Cross Riverians.
