Obudu Ranch Resort To Enjoy 24hrs Electricity As Installation Of 70KW Mini-Grid Power Plant Begins

In a bid to ensure the revival of the famous Obudu Ranch Resort, the Honourable Minister of State, Power, Goddy Jedy Agba, OFR is overseeing the installation of a 70KW solar mini-grid power plant to power the area 2/47.

The Minister will commission the project upon completion at the first quarter of 2021.

The installation of the 70KW  plant with  about 280 panels and 10KM distribution network, situated at the heart of Obudu Ranch Resort in Obanliku local government area of  Cross River State is at advanced stage.

The plant is expected to provide 24-hours electricity for both commercial and residential buildings at the famous tourists centre.

Some top Nigerians that own apartments at the Ranch that will be served by the plant include former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former Governor, Mr. Donald Duke, Chief of Kejuku and a host of others.

The mini-grid plant is a special intervention project facilitated by the Honourable Minister to intervene in the critical issue of no electricity in the Ranch Resort.

It is implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) which is under the direct supervision of the Minister of State.

Since he assumed office about a year ago, Agba has successfully carried other major power interventions through the REA in some states including Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ebonyi, Benue, Kano, Kaduna, Niger and some satellite towns in the federal capital territory (FCT), Abuja.
