MOWCA : Minister Congratulates Adalikwu, Thanks Buhari, Amaechi, Saraki

Honourable Minister of State, Power, Dr. Goddy Jedy-Agba, OFR has congratulated the newly elected Secretary General of Maritime Organization of West and Central African (MOWCA), Dr. Paul Adalikwu.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Minister himself, Jedy-Agba thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister Transport, Rt. Rotimi Amaechi and the Minister of State, Transport, Senator Gbemisola Saraki for their contributions towards Adalikwu's emergence.

Jedy-Agba said that, as his kinsman, the news of his victory in the election held in Accra, Ghana during the organization's 16th General Assembly elated his spirit greatly.

He said that with Adalikwu's wealth of experience in the maritime sector, he had no doubt that he will bring new drive that will ensure rapid development of the sector in the 25 member states.

According to him, "I want to warmly congratulate my brother, Dr. Paul Adalikwu on his very deserving emergence as the Secretary General of Maritime Organization of West and Central African. His emergence is historic because he's the first Nigerian to be elected into that exalted office.

Adalikwu is a colossus in Maritime administration. He'll be going into his new role with vast experience haven spent his formative years in the sector. I'm not saying this because he's my brother from Obudu and Cross River but I believe there wouldn't have been a better person for the job than him, now".

The Minister added that "I want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for approving his presentation as Nigeria's candidate for the election. There's no administration in Nigeria's history that has opened the vista at international level for Nigerians as the President Buhari's administration.

Adalikwu has joined retinue of other Nigerians who have emerged leaders in reputable International organizations in recent times. Just as others have not disappointed the country in the course of performing their duties, Adalikwu won't. I've no doubt that he'll make Nigerians and the President proud.

I also wants to thank my colleagues, the Minister of Transport and Minister of State, Transport, Rt. Rotimi Amaechi and Sen. Gbemisola Saraki for their support. Without them, we won't be celebrating this victory today ".

While urging stakeholders to give the Secretary General their necessary supports, he urged him not to rest in his oars in ensuring that he leaves indelible mark in the organization within his four years tenure.
