Tell Us Your Economic Blue Print For C'River Not War Chest - APC Chieftain Blast Gershom Bassey

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Cross River State, Chief Okoi Obono-obla has reacted to the viral social media post credited to the Senator representing Cross River South Senatorial district, Senator Gershom Bassey about his readiness to contest the 2023 Governorship election.

Bassey in the statement bragged that contrary to claims that nobody from the South has money to run the Governorship election, he was ready to match his opponents from any part of the state naira for naira and dollars for dollars.

Reacting, Obono-obla who is himself vying for the ticket of his party, APC to contest the Cross River Central Senatorial District election in 2023 noted that, what the people wants to hear is what Bassey will do to turn around the economy of the state and not how much he has to spend.

Ending his reply with the tag, "our mumu don do", Obono-obla challenged the Senator to explain how he got the tonnes of naira and dollars he brags about wanting to spend in the elections to Cross Riverians.

According to him, "You cannot aspire to be Governor of my State because you think that you have a huge war chest of money, connections, contacts, and network! No, nobody is interested in how much you have or the connections or network you have!

What we want to hear is what you will do to turn around the economy of the State. What is your road map on youth employment and the creation of opportunities to engage them? What is your road map on education, agriculture, climatic change, women, law and order, devolution of powers to local governments, etc.?"

He added that" suppose you boast of having tonnes of dollars and naira and wealth. In that case, you have to disclose frankly and comprehensively how you became a dollar millionaire and naira billionaire, particularly if you have held public office of whatever hue in the past two decades. Our Mumu don do"!
