Jedy-Agba Congratulates Otu, Odey, Lauds Cross Riverians For Voting APC

Minister of State, Power, Goddy Jedy-Agba, OFR has congratulated Cross River State Governor-elect, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and the All Progressives Congress, APC for winning the Saturday 18, 2023 governorship election.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Jedy-Agba said that the huge jubilation that greeted the declaration of Sen. Otu as winner of the election is a clear evidence of his popularity and  acceptability by Cross Riverians.

The Minister who also extended his goodwill to the Deputy Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Peter Odinga Odey as well as all the winners of the House of Assembly winners, hailed Cross River people for putting their faith in his party, the APC by voting them massively in the last elections.

He assured that the people of the state have made the right decision as Otu and his deputy were the best options and most prepared for the job.

"I want to congratulate my dear brother, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odinga Odey on their overwhelming victory in the Saturday March 18 Governorship election in Cross River State. In them, Cross Riverians have chosen people that were most prepared for the herculean job of leading the state at a critical period", the statement reads in part.

While thanking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free and fair elections, he added that "the huge celebration that greeted the announcement of the candidate of the APC as winner shows that indeed, the outcome reflected the wishes of majority of Cross River people".

He called on other candidates who lost out to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith and work with the incoming administration to move the state forward.

"Election is not war but a game. It's like a football match where you don't win always. I called on my brothers who didn't make it to accept the outcome in good faith because it's only God that can establish authority. I encourage them to demonstrate good sportsmanship by accepting the results and working with the winners to move our dear state forward ".
