Akpanke Receives FCE Obudu Governing Council Chairman

The Member representing Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwerra federal constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke on Tuesday in his office, received Hon. Ahmed Abdullahi, Chairman of the governing council of the Federal College of Education, Obudu.
Speaking, the lawmaker who congratulated Abdullahi on his appointment and assured of his support to bring the needed change to the institution, promised that in his capacity as the representative of the host community, he's willing to work for any interest geared towards moving the institution forward.
According to him, "let me start by congratulating you for this familiarisation visit. You've demonstrated that you're indeed ready to work. FCE is our treasure that we must protect with everything we got. As an Obanliku son, I've a special attachment to the school because of the role our late father, Dr. Joseph Wayas played in bringing it to Obudu. Now that he's no more, we owe him the obligation to continue to work to make the school better".
He assured that "my doors will continue to be open not to only you or the people I represent but to any interest that concerns that institution. The infrastructure in that college is nothing to write home about. We must work to improve it. Whenever you need anything that requires my assistance or intervention, please be rest assured that I'll give it my utmost attention".
On his part, Abdullahi who was accompanied in the visit by his counterpart who's the Chairman of the governing council of the Federal College of Education, Ididep, Hon. Cletus Obun, and Dr. Bashir Maru, member of FCE Obudu governing council thanked the lawmaker for his warmth reception.
Abdullahi who expressed his commitment to working with him and other stakeholders to implement his vision for the institution said that the school needs collaborative efforts to move forward.
"I want to thank for your hospitality and warmth reception. The purpose of our visit is to familiarise with you and seek your support and collaboration as we strive to reposition the school. The college needs the support of everybody and we'll always count on your goodwill to get certain demands that'll require your intervention through ", he said.
