Mr. Declan Ogar, PDP Yala Chairmanship Aspirant

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship aspirant in Yala Local Government Area, Mr Declan Ogar has said he is not contesting the local government elections because he is necessarily the most qualified but for his convinction that he is the right man for the job.

In a statement released  yesterday in Okuku on his behalf by Mr. Peter George, the interim organizing secretary of his Campaign Organization, Ogar maintained that he is in the race because of his determination to reposition his area for greatness.

While emphasising the need to resurrect the dying quality of leadership and representation in Yala, the statement added that Ogar is not in the race because he is the most qualified or because his Political ward, Ugaga has not served the council as elected chairman before but because of his conviction that he can make a difference.

"After all, this is Prof Ben Ayade's administration and no other person's else. The administration that a few of us fought tirelessly, against all odds to enthrone.

"Check out, today many commissioners and other people holding lucrative offices in Ayade administration were of different factions castigating Ayade and his gubernatorial ambition those days. While a few of us were having sleepless nights and days projecting the person of Ayade to electorates for the governorship position, they were planning how to nail Ayade and maim some us who were very interested in the interest of Ayade.

"Today, they are commissioners and what have you, eating large. What is the guarantee that if it were their initial person that won the election at last, they would have become commissioners and all of that today? If Ayade remembers good deeds, he will freely support the ambition of Declan Ogar-Genesis because the young man is a "tested and trusted" supporter of him come rain or sun", the statement reads.

The statement further reads "among all of those agitating to be the council chairman, Declan Ogar stands tall and more prepared for the job. Check out, many others are coming out either because they felt that the chairmanship position would be zoned to their exis, or because they want to have the name I'm a one time chairman of Yala LGA, or that they have people that will influence the election in their favor as the case may be. None have the bold mind of sincere leadership and the interest of taking Yala LGA to the next level like Declan Ogar. Find out."

"Declan has all it takes to penetrate anywhere to bring good things for Yala people. He's a gentle respected young man who believes in himself so much and believe in Ayade in his quest to transform Cross River State. If Ayade chooses to bring anybody to manage Yala LGA for him today, he might do that successfully.

"But to be honest with you, the decision in favor of Declan would lift his respect and responsiveness in the minds of the people of Yala the more especially among the youth. I hope you're aware that Declan own the structure of youths council, the umbrella body of youth organization in Yala LGA? The youth believes so much in Declan Ogar than any other aspirants.

"Declan mobilized us to support Sen Ben Ayade ambition those days as if Ayade was his father. And we look forward to see him well positioned in Ayade administration so that people will see the benefit of that humble action of his against all odds.
