Breaking : Ayade, CRUTECH Registrar Did Not Reject Alumni Award By Our reporter

The Cross River University of Technology, (CRUTECH) Alumni Association has rejected the reports making the round that Governor Ben Ayade and the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Beshell have turned down their nomination for award by the alumni.

In a statement signed by the alumni Public Relations Officer, Inyali Peter, the association described the report as "misleading, malicious and a regrettable sensationalism that should be thrown to the trash".

"The attention of the National Executive Council (NEC) of Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH Alumni has been drawn to a fictitious report written by one Godshield Kanjal purpoting that the Governor of Cross River State and the Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Senator Ben Ayade and the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Gabriel Beshell have turned down their nomination for award of excellence by the alumni.

The NEC want to state categorically that there's no truth in the report as the association has not received any notification from the Governor or the Registrar concerning turning down their nomination. The story can best be described as a figment of the widest imagination of the writer therefore should be thrown to the trash.

We consider the story as speculative, malicious, misleading and a regrettable sensationalism. It was fabricated to misrepresent truth because from our findings, we can state unequivocally that the writer did not speak with the Registrar, Governor or members of the Alumni award committee concerning the issue before going to press. In fact, specifically, the registrar did not grant the reporter any interview and as such all the reasons speculated to have informed his decision to turn down for award including the insinuations that he said the current governing council which he is a member and a secretary has not performed are total falsehood. The writer  concocted the story to serve a purpose which only him can explain", the statement reads in part.

The association further advised the general public to disregard the report even as they cautioned the writer to always confirm his report before going to the press.

According to the statement "The general public is hereby advised to disregard the information in its entirety as their nomination for award during the reunion and award night of CRUTECH Alumni billed to hold on the 25th of November is still standing.

The writer is advised to always confirm his reports from appropriate authorities before going to the press".
