Ayade, CRUTECH registrar rejects alumni awards By Godshield Kanjal

Governor of Cross  River, Senator Ben Ayade has turned down proposed award by the alumni association of the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH).
Besides, the Register of the university, Mr. Gabriel Beshel, has also rejected the award offer.

Reasons for the governor rejecting the awards were still unclear, but a source who craved for anonymity noted that Mr. Ayade had written back to the alumni body – of his unwillingness to be conferred with an award – after a proposal was sent to him.

However, Mr Beshel, Busar of CRUTECH, it was garthered, gave reasons for rejecting the award offer Mr Beshel had declined the award conferment hinging his reasons that his administration was too short to be assessed or awarded.

According to a source, the registrar further noted that the current administration of the governing board has not performed extremely well to be honored in that matter.

“we sent a letter to the Governor as receipents of our award in the forthcoming reunion and award ceremony, but the governor and the registarr of CRUTECH turned down the offer.

“Although, Mr Beshel gave reasons for rejecting the award, insisting that his administration was too short to be assessed and that, the current governing council had not performed extremely well for any recognition,” the source said.

Mr Beshel assumed office as registrar of CRUTECH about three years ago.

The CRUTECH alumni association is planning of holding a reunion and award ceremony mid November- where exceptional in the society had been nominated for awards.

Efforts to reach to the president of the alumni association, Mr. Eyam Abeng proved abortive as calls and text messages sent to his line were not replied.
