C'River Youths In Politics Chairman Celebrates Birthday With Street Children

Chairman of Cross River Youths in Politics and Good Governance, Comrade Julius Obanghe Kijuo yesterday, January 10th celebrated his birthday on the street of Calabar with street Children.

Kijuo and his entourage stormed the street with goodies like cake, cooked rice, cash amongst other items which were distributed to the Children who trooped out in number to celebrate with him.

Two of the kids, Moses and David who indicated interest in education were awarded scholarship from secondary to tertiary institution by the celebrant.

Speaking, he said that his aim of identifying with them was not only to present gifts but to give them hope that despite their present situation, they can grow to become great people in the society.

He charged them to shun cultism and other social vices to encourage well meaning Cross Riverians to invest in them.

"Cross River State belong to all of us. I decided to mark my birthday with them today to give  them hope that they can become great people despite their situation.

My advice to them  is to keep off from social vises. I will pick two of them that have shown interest in schooling to train them from secondary school", he said.

Moses who spoke on behalf of others thanked the celebrant and his team for the kind gesture and pledged that they will not indulge in any criminal activities.

He appealed to members of the public to identify with them as well as support them with scholarships to go to school.
