Nigeria Longest Serving Monarch Wants PMB to Assent to Peace Corps Bill

The longest serving traditional ruler in Nigeria and the Chancellor, Cross River University of Technology, His Royal Highness, Uti Joseph Davies Agba has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the bill establishing the Nigeria Peace Corps as passed by both houses of the National Assembly.

Uti Agba who is close to 60 years as the  Paramount Ruler of Obudu local government area of Cross River State made the call when the state Commandant of the Corps, Dr. Okweche Dominic led members of the organization on a new year visit to his Palace in Utugwang.

The monarch who is touted to also be the longest serving Chief in West Africa said that it was necessary for the  President to speedily assent to the bill to enhance transformation as well as create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths.

He prayed for the Peaceful coexistence Nigerians even as he advised leaders to shun any act capable of undermining the unity of the country.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, the Commandant extended the esteem  felicitations of the National Commandant, Amb. Dickson Akoh even as he applauded him for his kind gesture and peaceful years in the throne.

He reiterated the commitment of the corps to foster Peace  and unity in the State and Country at large.
