UNICAL : Chinese Ambassador To Award 47 Students Scholarship ...As Management Declares Thursday Lecture Free

To commemorate 47 years of Nigeria-China diplomatic relations, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria,  Dr Zhou Pingjian has chosen the University of Calabar, (Unical) ,to award scholarships to 47 students of the university.

Vice of the University, Prof. Zana Akpagu who disclosed this said that the value of each award is N100, 000 noting that it's also to celebrate China's National Day (1st October).

To this end, the Management has declared tomorrow, Thursday, March 1, 2018 Lecture free day  to enable students selected for the Scholarship to be formally presented with the award.

Prof. Akpagu  said that the scholarship will be an annual event in Unical starting from tomorrow.

Explaining why the university was chosen, the VC said that "according to them, Unical was chosen because of its rising profile and visibility. We didn't lobby for this recognition! I therefore most passionately and humbly plead with all staff, faculty and students, to turn up en masse to honor this invitation".
