Prepare Your HandOver Note, Leave Us Alone - APC Tells Ayade

Gov. Ben Ayade
The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State has urged Governor Ben Ayade to concentrate on writing his note to hand over power to it in 2019 rather than think of dividing the party using spurious and obsolete means.

The party's advised to Ayade came on heels of alleged interference by the Governor to stop the just concluded State congress of the APC on Sunday.

Thirty - Six Executive Members led by Dr. Matthew Achigbe, a retired Permanent Secretary emerged from the said congress which witnessed change of venue following the Governor's alleged blockade plot.

State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Bassey Ita, said in a statement that '' Ayade should have been busy compiling his hand over notes to relinquish power to the APC in 2019 other than attempting to stop it from fulfilling its divine mandate for the masses of Cross River. ''

The party said '' last Sunday's attempt to explore inordinate, spurious and obsolete means to stop a legitimate process of internal democracy in the APC, was akin to chasing the wind, and it only paints a picture of a jester and time-waster. ''

According to the statement,'' Ayade's futile exercise at chasing the wind: using over 100 heavily armed security operatives to stop a legitimate state congress of our party, further speaks of the Biblical analogy of the Egyptians prowling against the divine mandate of the Isrealites. It is indeed a futile exercise which he must advise himself against''.

The Statement also advised the Governor to '' Go and get his money back as your hirelings will never succeed to compromise the strength and support the party has enjoyed from its majority stakeholders''.

He  said further, '' for donating the cultural center for a birthday bash in the guise of hijacking the congress, we jeer you. This is because it was a Maradonic tendency of an arm of the APC to prove to our dear Governor that he is not as smart as he thinks, whereas the real deal was preserved for last Sunday''.

The Statement maintained that news of the 2019 victory of the APC will equally come as a big surprise to the Governor, especially when his spurious, inordinate and obsolete strategies would have all been successfully neutralized like the Sunday planned disruption.

The statement also advised the Police to always remember that as the pivot of internal security, delving deep into politics could be counterproductive to the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration's effort at addressing the security challenge facing the country.

It maintained that since political times witness back and forth of tantrums- throwing between politicians or parties, it would be advisable for the police and other law enforcement agencies to offer useful advise to such persons and groups who seek their services in destructive manner in  other to sustain the peace.

The statement congratulated all the 36 newly elected Exco members for the victory.
