C'River First Lady Bags Peace Ambassador Award

Wife of Cross River State Governor, Dr. Linda Ayade

The Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria (CWON), Calabar Ecclesiastical Province has conferred an Ambassador of Peace Award on the wife of Cross River State Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Ayade.

The award which was conferred on the first lady during the CWON celebration in commemoration of 50 years admission of the organization into World Union of Catholic Women Organization (WUCWO) was in recognition of her peace initiatives.

Speaking, the Governor’s wife who was represented by the Special Adviser, Office of the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Rose Eneji expressed gratitude to the Provincial Executives and entire members of CWON for their thoughtfulness and the honour done her, adding that, she loves and respects them as fellow sisters in the faith.

Mrs. Ayade prayed God to bless the CWON, while enjoining the women to remain prayerful and pledged her support to the organization, especially towards the building of a civic centre in Calabar.

Earlier in her welcome address, CWON Provincial President, Mrs. Francisca  Odili represented by the Provincial Vice President, Mrs. Theresa Ekon expressed appreciation on behalf of the women of the province to the Governor's wife for celebrating with them.

According to her, “you have distinguished yourself in peace keeping in content and scope. It is in this regard that the Catholic Women Organization Nigeria, Calabar Ecclesiastical Province has thought it wise to confer on you, the Prestigious award of Ambassador of Peace as part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria in the regional body (WUCWO)".
