“I will like to use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to the entire Obudu people for their magnanimous expression of their will during the last bye-election for their seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for choosing me even though they could have chosen anyone else.

“The overwhelming support displayed by all those who turned out to vote was indeed a vote to honor the memory of my late husband, Rt. Honourable Stephen Akomaye Ukpukpen who held the ideals of simplicity, approachability, integrity and contentment close to his heart. I will like to assure the Obudu people that this new mandate will not deviate from those ideals.

“Though still in mourning and battling so many emotions right now, the Obudu people should be assured that I will reciprocate this kind gesture and will do my best to provide them the representation they deserve in the remaining months of the 8th Assembly.

“I wish to thank the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and all political stakeholders and leaders for providing me this platform to serve. I congratulate the party for their victory at the polls.

“My sincere and heartfelt appreciation goes to His Excellency, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade for the fatherly role he has played from the time my husband passed on till now. Indeed, the Governor’s brotherly care and support for late Rt. Hon. Stephen Ukpukpen has continued to grow through the year. I also thank Her Excellency, Dr. Linda Ayade for her friendship, kindness and loving support.

“Finally, I will like to thank all who worked tirelessly, investing their own resources to ensure victory at the polls. I pray that the good Lord will bless you and cause help to be available every time you need it".
