I'm not C'River State Chairman of AAC - Agba Jalingo

Mr. Agba Jalingo
Cross River state contact person for the #TakeItBack Movement, Mr. Agba Jalingo, has debunked rumors that he has been made the State Chairman of the newly registered political party, African Action Congress AAC.

Jalingo, in a statement issued in Calabar said that while he remains committed and fervent in his determination to mobilize and work for the party, he has no interest in leading the party or running for any elective position.

He added that the task of getting in the field and building the party at the grassroots and making it acceptable to the generality of Cross Riverians, is more important to him than administering the party.

"It is important that I debunk insinuations flying around that I have been made the state chairman of our party, AAC in Cross River state. The party currently has no state chairman. I am only the state contact person for the #TakeItBack Movement.

"However, the existing coordinating committee of the #TakeItBack Movement is in marathon meetings with some very respected Cross Riverians who we have approached and some who have indicated interest in the leadership of the party with a view to evolving a credible and competent state executive for our party.

"I want to assure our members and Cross Riverians that, with the level of engagement we have reached, we are poised to present some of the finest crop of leaders that will reassure everyone that we mean business and know exactly what we are gunning for. Our efforts and consultations are going on smoothly and the general public will be duly informed", he said.

It is rumoured that the State Chairman of the party may eventually emerge from Cross River central senatorial district, with some big names already being speculated.

Also, a veteran Journalist and Lecturer in the Mass Communication Department of Cross River University of Technology CRUTECH, Cornelius Ellah, may also become the Spokesperson of the party in the state.

Registration of membership of the party and indication of interest to contest is ongoing in the party website: www.aacparty.org
