Jedy-Agba Joseph Kesimba, an exceptionally versatile young prince, born exactly 17463 days by October 23, 2018 to the royal family of His Royal Majesty (HRM), Uti Joseph Davies Agba, Paramount Ruler of Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River, is very much set to serve the people of Obudu/ Obanliku/ Bekwarra Federal Constituency in the lower chambers of the National Assembly, come  May  2019, by the grace of God.

known simply as KJ by his family members, colleagues, friends, political associates and well wishes, Jedy-Agba Joseph Kesimba, is a simply, jovial, down-to-earth and amiable gentleman who is loved by his then teachers, fellow pupils and students, for his forthrightness, calm and friendly disposition towards others, as well as his commendable approach to his studies then as a student.

KJ has over time displayed sharp intellectual capacity and uncanny ability that could read one’s thoughts. His rich educational background would leave a few wondering. With an MBA from Ladoke Akintola University of technology, Ogbomosho Osun state, a PGD in  business administration obtained from the  Nasarawa state University, and of course a B.Sc, Political science from the prestigious University of Calabar. All of these could not have just come without the solid background he acquired from the Mary Knoll College okuku, Yala and Ukprinyi Primary School Utugwang, Obudu LGA, Cross River state.

Endowed with an eagle's eyes and mind that could simply tell the next man all is well, KJ Agba is a man who has a flair for details and seriousness of purpose. A self-made man who just right after the completion of his one year mandatory national youth service  NYSC, at Global Ventures Limited, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, and recognizing his potentials which glaringly spurred him to stand on his own, he plunged headlong into business.

Like most first timers in business, kJ had his baptism of fire as he had his hands burnt in some ventures. But his tenacity paid off later as he went on to build an enviable business empire beginning with “Kesim Investments Limited at Utako, Abuja, with him sitting atop as Chairman.

Committed to sharpening and broadening his knowledge in business, Joseph Kesimba, put everything he got, so he could achieve his full potentials in his area of business. The Obudu born Prince was a participant at the Nigerian International Business and Investors Forum in Switzerland in November 2009, where he garnered more knowledge to grapple with the dynamics of international business on the one hand and to further enhance the expansion of his business empire on another hand.

The fruits of the additional knowledge gained and capacity-building acquired in the area of business metamorphosed in the setting up of the following firms,  New Era Mercantile Limited, Utako, Abuja; Wheels and Brakes Limited, Utako, Abuja,; and Alimachi Nigeria Limited, Maitama, Abuja, with him as a director in each of these companies.

In area of social commitments and laurels, KJ Jedy-Agba is a social addict, so given to relating with all shades of people so much that he is the Patron of the National Youth Organization of Nigeria, the 12 apostles Parish, Abuja. He has also won several honours  across all strata of the society. He is a receiver of the prestigious “African Achievers of the year Award” (AAY) for his contributions to nation-building and also honoured as “Fellow of Police Community Relations Committee”, in recognition of his contributions towards the promotion of peace and community policing in Nigeria. He bagged a “Meritorious Award” by the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja in recognition of his contribution to the development of the cathedral of the 12 apostles Parish.

KJ, is a proud member of the Institute of Development Administration of Nigeria. With a solid footing in both local and international business, the philanthropist and Political Scientist, KJ Agba was now totally equipped to launch into the political arena and became a co-founder,  “Team Liyel campaign” in 2011. And In January 2011, he presented himself before his people and political leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as an aspirant for the Cross River North Senatorial District Seat but lost gallantly at the primaries.

Due to his first time superlative and resilient performance, holding on till full realization of the senatorial primaries which he and other aspirants lost to Prof. Ben Ayade, now the governor of Cross River state, KJ Jedy-Agba, since demonstrated his avowed loyalty to the party by increasing his political participation in the PDP family. This made his political worth more noticeable to the political heavyweights of the party in the state.

A giver and a lover of people with an excited personality, he encourages and makes the development of youths his priority.  KJ is a solid pillar for the weak and poor to lean on, and an advocate for the voiceless. This unassuming Prince of the plateau established a football club known as KJ FC and sponsored it up to national division three league. He remains a caucus member of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River state, and was Co-coordinator, GoodLuck To Goodluck (G to G) Campaign in 2014.

Specially gifted with a quick analytical and interactive mind, KJ possesses a rare ability to absorb pressure from work at any level in both private and public sectors. Perhaps it is in recognition of these exceptional attributes that he was appointed the 2015 Governorship co-coordinator for Obudu Local Government Area and later, Chairman of the Governing Council, New Cities Development Board, Cross River State by the current administration of Senator [Prof] Ben Ayade.

As at today, kJ has continued to enjoy a smooth political relationship across all strata in the State. He is currently the Grand Patron of Team 'honour' Ayade, a grassroot socio-political mobilisation group working assiduously for the return of Sen. ( Prof) Ben Ayade for a second term in office. Team 'Honour' Ayade, has a strong and powerful membership base that cuts across the political class, the youths and several women groups within the three local Government Areas of Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal constituency.

Equipped with a huge experience which he has gained in his interactions at both local and international forums, and a good grasp of Nigerian political dynamics, the business tycoon cum politician, an administrator per excellence is positive that he has the requisite pedigree by way of practical knowledge and is adequately prepared to take a shot once again at an elective position in 2019.

A God-fearing Christian of the Catholic faith, KJ is married and blessed with three children. He is of the firm believe that this time, with the support of the party leaders and other members of PDP, he will secure the mandate of the people of Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal constituency at the 2019 polls as their representative, where he hopes to form a formidable voice on their behalf at the Federal House of Representative.

KJ Jedy-Agba reasoned that apart from being eminently qualified for the position he is seeking, providence has made it possible that by the rotational arrangement put in place by the political leaders and elders of the constituency, it is just natural that after Bekwarra, which produces the present occupant of the seat, 2019 will be the turn of Obudu.

Providence indeed may have been working in his favour as, various political interest and socio-cultural groups that include youths, men and women, and elders across the three local government areas of the constituency have expressed their willingness to back the soft-spoken Prince as he seeks his people’s mandate to get to the House of Representatives in 2019.

“I am eminently qualified and ready to serve my people in the position which I seek my party's support to vie for. And I’m prepared mind, body and soul to take up this responsibility of serving my people at this level with a single minded determination to the glory of my creator, and to enhance the socio-economic and political well-being of my people with then best of my abilities”. He affirms.
