Prominent Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State , Rt. Hon. Paul Adah has openly declared support for John Upan Odey, the only APC governorship aspirant from the northern senatorial district of the state.

Adah who was himself a governorship aspirant of the party recently withdrew from the race citing personal reasons as what prompted him to step out.

Adah, a two times former house of representatives member and the immediate past Commissioner of NDDC while addressing thousands of his supporters in his country home in Obudu said that all stakeholders of the northern extraction must come together to ensure the north retains the APC ticket.

He urged the leadership of the party to respect zoning saying that it would be inappropriate for the party to take the ticket from the north after the north had observed zoning in other positions that were zoned to other senatorial districts.

While urging his supporters to ensure Upan Odey wins the APC ticket during the primaries, he said that he was confidence that he has the capacity and the right attitude to make a good Governor.

Similarly, the five chapter Chairmen of APC from the North have thrown they weight behind Upan Odey.

The party leaders during a meeting on Sunday in Bekwerra took their turn to laud Upan Odey for the capacity he has shown in picking the APC nomination form as well as setting up a standard campaign office in Calabar.

Describing him as the pride of the North, they pledged to persuade leaders of the party from other senatorial districts to support him and the north to get the party's ticket.

While urging him to go ahead with his consultation, they however vowed to resist any attempt to unjustly take the party's ticket which was zoned to the north to another senatorial district.
