One hundred and twenty four persons appointed personal aides by Senator Ben Ayade, the Cross River State governor in December 2017 and are yet to be paid since then have appealed for inclusion in the state’s payroll.
The appointees in an appeal letter sent to Governor and made available to newsmen in Calabar called on the Governor to order their inclusion in the state payroll to put pay to their endless waiting and abate their sufferings.
“We celebrated our appointments with glee and pronto, some of us who were working in private companies were asked to resign by the heads of our organisations and those who resided in far places like Abuja and Lagos came back to the state to complete the documentation process as requested by the Secretary to the State Government but suffice to say that since then our names are yet to be on the payroll”.
The letter signed by Sunday Lukpata, the Coordinator and Mrs Bassey Ekey, the appointees lamented that their expectations are being dashed by the prolonged delay as they have not been paid and securing others jobs has not been easy.
“Most of us who resigned from our positions in the private companies we worked for have not been accepted back because those positions were filled up after we left and finding new jobs has not been easy”
They assured the Governor that they would work as foot soldiers for his re-election in 2019 in their various units since they are residing in the rural areas where they are close to the people.
