BREAKING : Details Of Obol Lopon of Ugep meeting with Buhari revealed

President Buhari welcoming the Obol Lopon of Ugep,  His Royal Majesty, Obol Ofem Ubana Eteng to the state house today

The Obol Lopon of Ugep and paramount ruler of Yakur local government area of Cross River State, His Royal Majesty, Obol Ofem Ubana Eteng led a delegation to pay President Muhammadu Buhari a courtesy visit today.

The meeting which was attended by top government officials including Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Wilfred Oyo Ita, Niger Delta Minister, Dr. Usani Uguru, SA Prosecution to the President, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla amongst others was held at the Conference Room in the State House, Aso Rock , Abuja.

The royal father thanked the President for appointing Yakur sons into exalted positions in government, including Chief of Naval Staff, Minister of Niger Delta and Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution.

He pledged the support of his community to the President’s ''quest to rescue Nigeria.''

While pleading with the President to develop the solid minerals in Yakurr, he asked the federal government to intervene and resolve inter-ethnic conflicts, affecting several communities namely Nko, Nyima, Oyadama, Edibe, Usumtong, Adadama and Ekureku.

He said: ‘‘We are increasingly losing our youths to inter-tribal wars which if nothing is done will leave our communities without youths in the near future.

''As Obol Lopon of Ugep, I am ready to partner with relevant government agencies saddled with the responsibility and management of communal conflict resolutions".

He appealed to the President to upgrade and take over the Institute of Management Technology, (ITM) Ugep into a Federal University of Technology.

Responding, the President assured that no part of Nigeria will be ignored under his watch.

President Buhari told the delegation that: ‘‘I assure you that under my watch, no part of Nigeria will be ignored.

''I am very pleased that you [the traditional ruler] have shared some professional background as a former military officer.

''My experience of being in the military afforded me the opportunity to work with all Nigerians and this is a lifetime experience.''
